$83.3 million?
Sounds like a lot, huh?
Imagine being told to pay $83.3 million for sexually assaulting a woman you never even met. And even if you had met her, it’s obvious she wasn’t your type.
It isn’t easy being orange.
If I wanted to make a particular point, I suppose I could say that Donald Trump’s superpower is lying more outrageously than would seem humanly possible.
An ordinary liar might say that sure, he did what he’s accused of doing, but it was with the woman’s consent.
“She wanted it.”
But saying it never happened, that you never even met her and even if you had, she wasn’t your type?
That’s pure Donald.
Of course, that isn’t what this is about. Anyone who doesn’t know Trump is a liar of legendary proportions is either not paying attention or is a Trumpanzee. This isn’t about lying or truth.
It’s about $83.3 million.
It’s about $18.3 million in compensatory damages and $65 million in punitive damages. The first number is supposed to make up for losses caused by the criminal act and the second is intended to punish the criminal for what he did. In fact, the second number is supposed to be big enough to hurt.
To Trump, who claims to be worth $10 billion and says he has $400 million in cash, these so-called punitive damages will hurt about as much as a stubbed toe or a sprained ankle. Oh, Trump will absolutely hate having to give up any money, but it isn’t about the money. He can get most of that back in contributions from his minions.
It’s about being the loser.
Trump will do everything he can to avoid paying a cent, but if the time ever comes when he has no choice, he’ll write a check and won’t have to give up anything. That’s why that even though $83.3 million sounds like a lot of money, it’s actually a ridiculously small number compared to the $148 million Trump minion Rudy Giuliani was assessed in his trial in Georgia.
As I said a few paragraphs ago, it isn’t about the money to Trump.
It’s being a loser. It’s maybe the No. 1 reason he cannot admit he lost the 2020 election, the reason his lies have been so outrageous about it. If you listen to him on the subject, he didn’t just win in 2020. He won by a landslide.
We just need to keep reminding Trump he isn’t a winner at all.
He’s a classic loser.
