The U.S. Senate voted 70-29 today to approve $95 billion of aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, a vote that included a significant number of Republicans.
Good news, huh?
After all, the Senate is usually the difficult hurdle with 60 votes required to put an end to debate. Getting a bill through the Senate is a really big deal.
Except for one thing. One person in the House, obeying the wishes of someone who isn’t even in the government, is at least temporarily blocking the bill from passing out of Congress to President Biden’s desk.
Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson said that despite the lopsided Senate vote, despite the fact that numerous members of his own party would vote for it, he will not allow the bill to be brought to the floor.
Why? Because Donald Trump does not want the U.S. to give any more aid to Ukraine. Trump wants Russia to win its war with Ukraine.
Who would ever have thought the Republican Party would be pro Russian?
Trump is trying to kill America. It’s up to Americans to stop him.
