No matter what the ‘zees say, disgraceful

“It ain’t braggin’ if you can do it …”

It’s not that easy to ascertain who first made this remark. I used to think it was the great Muhammad Ali, who certainly earned the right to say it. The other day I saw it attributed to the even greater Satchel Paige, who preceded Ali by a couple of decades, and even earlier to Dizzy Dean and Babe Ruth.

To be fair, Ruth actually said  “It’s not Bragging if You can Really do it.”

All four men were certainly entitled to make that statement. All four earned their fame and brought joy to their fans and glory to their games.

Then there’s Your Favorite President.

President Yambo and his vice president, Hillbilli Vanilli, humiliated our country and disgraced their offices by abusing an elected foreign president, Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a meeting in the Oval Office Friday.

Vice Preesident Vanilli was apparently so grateful to be in Trumps’ presence for some reason other than cleaning his testicles that he joined him in yelling at Zelenskyy and supporting Russia.

In a press breifing after the argument, a reporter asked Yambo what would happen if Russia’s Vladimir Putin reneged on the deal. Trump said it wouldn’t happen, but the reporter persisted. What if he did renege?

That’s where Trump’s ego jumped in. I’ve made a lot of deals, he said. In fact he said it was what he was famous for.

Actually, like so much else he says, that isn’t really true. Some years back, one of the top business magazines did a piece on the top 10 developers in New York. No one named Trump made the list. He has declared bankruptcy numerous times, including bankrupting casinos.

How do you bankrupt casinos?

In fact, just about his only real success in business the last 25 years or so has been portraying a successful businessman on television.

So yes, Don, when it comes to you, it is bragging.

Unless you’re talking about fooling people.

You’re world-class at that.

That’s why there is no doubt in my mind the quote historians will remembewer you for.

“I love the poorly educated.”
