Wellington, Ohio?
I spent 10 years of my childhood living in Ohio, and I never heard of a town called Wellington.
It’s a village of 4,802 people in north central Ohio, roughly 20 miles south of Lake Erie.
It’s about 50 miles from Crestline, a town of about the same size where my grandparents lived.
Ohio can be an interesting state, depending on how you look at it. In the 1960 census, there were more cities with population of at least 100,000 in Ohio than in any other state.
Wellington was not one of them, although to be fair, it’s only about 50 miles from Cleveland. If you want to consider that a selling point. It is the home of the Spirit of ’76 Museum, which sounds more interesting than it really is.
So what makes Wellington worth mentioning. Well, Donald Trump held a rally there Saturday night.
Why Wellington? Well, Tickle Me, ID, and Pus, OK, apparently weren’t interested in the infamy of being Trump’s return to the stage after nearly six months. He was in town ostensibly to support a Trumpanzee running against a Republican who had voted to impeach Trump.
Depending on how you look at it, the crowd was either unimpressive … or massive.
The New York Times said the crowd was “several thousand,” which doesn’t sound like much, but remember the population is less than 5,000. The last crowd they had that was comparable was the Regional Cornhole Tournament. Trump wasn’t the only draw. Another headliner was Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who apparently is still auditioning to the the fourth Mrs. Trump.
Trump spoke for about 90 minutes, mostly about the election and how it was stolen from him.
It was fairly boring. According to the Times:
“Mr. Trump’s speech — low-key, digressive and nearly 90 minutes long — fell flat at times with an otherwise adoring audience. Scores of people left early as he bounced from topic to topic — immigration, Israel, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s protective mask.”
If you look at the crowd, one thing you won’t see much of is people wearing face masks. Given their political bent, you’d have to figure a lot of those folks haven’t been vaccinating. You might figure Wellington will have a hard time holding onto village status.

Hamlet?
Seems like that might be appropriate for Donald.
