IS PALIN REALLY GOING TO RUN FOR CONGRESS?

So Sarah Palin has decided to run for Congresss.

Who’s the happiest woman in America? Got to be Tina Fey, who will be in all sorts of demand again for her pitch-perfect Palin portrayal;.

And who’s the unhappiest? It’s probably either Lauren Boebert or Marjorie Taylor Greene, who will no longer be doing battle for the title of Looniest Woman in Politics. The only battle now will be to see which one of them will get to be Palin’s sidekick.

In other words, they’ll be battling for the right to be the No. 1 also-ran.

It’s difficult to imagine Alaskans wanting the woman we call Snowbilly T. Grifter to represent them in Congress. Because after all, your representative in Congress is essentially the one contact you have in Washington to deal with the federal bureaucracy on your behalf.

When I was living in Northern Virginia in the 1960s, our congressman was a conservative Republican. The area was morew conservative then, but the biggest thing Rep. Joel T. Broyhill had going for him was that his staff was first-rate at dealing with constituent requests.

Your Social Security check didn’t come?

We’re on it.

Your nephew needs a job at the post office?

We’re on it.

People could say all they wanted about why you shouldn’t re-elect Broyhill, but when the response is that he got your nephew a government job, it’s checkmate.

You’ve got to figure hard work isn’t going to be Palin’s strong point. You’ve also got to figure she’ll hire people for her staff based on what they can do for her, nut what they can do for her constituents.

Snowbilly and the Boss Grifter

Of course, that doesn’t matter to the Far Right anymore. It’s all about grievances and making liberals’ heads explode. It’s why if you listen to Donald Trump talk about why he should be president again, you rarely hear him talk about anything he wants to accomplish other than just being president again.

As for Palin, she was 44 when she ran for vice president in 2008.

Now she’s nearing 60.

Why is she running for Congress?

Well, she no longer has the opportunity to be the fifth Mrs. Rush Limbaugh and she’s too old to be the fourth Mrs. Donald Trump.

Might as well run for Congress.
