When I signed on to my website this morning, I did what I always do first. I checked to see how many hits I got yesterday and how many I have had in the two years I have been writing for Captive on the Carousel.
No, the number above isn’t daily visitors. The most I have had in one day is about 600, but late last night or early this morning, my two-year total clicked over from 99,999 to 100,000.
In some ways, things have been going very well. I have posted 592 times, some very good and others not so good. The biggest disappointment is with comments. More specifically, a lack of them.
The site is set up that the first time someone comments, I have to approve them. The purpose of this is to keep spam commenters off the site. But folks are apparently so reluctant to give information like their email addresses that no one comments. I’ve had 115 comments in two years and 100 of those were spam that I blocked.
So it doesn’t look like I’ll ever get many comments.
That’s OK, as long as you keep reading.
I’ll write again today on another subject.
But for now, it’s on to a million.
