One was probably fake, the other probably not.
Both are just the latest factors in what it turning out to be a very important presidential election.
Depending on who you believe, the failure to protect one particular candidate will result in America heading over the falls, jumping the shark or going down the drain. Choose the metaphor that makes you the happiest.
I’m not going to say anything else right now about Donald Trump’s Saturday rally in Butler, Pa. I have said several times I have serious doubts about its legitimacy, and that will have to be enough for now. As for the announcement this week that President Biden has Covid again, I can’t help but wonder if this is the beginning of a graceful way for him to withdraw.
I said in 2020 I thought Biden was too old to run for president. I voted for him then and will do the same this time if he’s on the ballot. Hell, I would vote for Hitler or Stalin against Trump.
What?
Either of them would do less damage than Trump, especially since they are both dead.
Oh, okay.
Seriously, though, I have a hard time seeing how anyone who isn’t megarich, racist, homophobic, fascist, a religious fanatic or cursed with a sub-75 IQ could vote for Trump.
In truth, the many times Trump used leering sexual innuendo to say how much he wished he could have sex with his daughter Ivanka should have disqualified him right away. Of course, dead pimp Jeffrey Epstein’s brother said his brother ended his friendship with Trump when he realized Trump was a crook.
Still, far too many Democrats are crapping themselves over Biden.
The one truth in all this is that Biden is as good a man as Trump is a bad one. The thing keeping him in the race is that he honestly believes he is the only one who can keep Trump out of the White House.
It may be that a ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris with someone like Pete Buttigieg or Gretchen Whitmer on the ticket could do quite well against Trump and the Project 2025 agenda. All of a sudden, all the old jokes would be about Trump — falling asleep in public, crapping his pants, etc.
Add to that the possibility of a woman president in the year Republicans will have serious trouble with the women’s vote and it could be quite interesting.
Even if Trump faked another event to show he’s a real man.
