There’s an exchange between Leonard Weinglass and Tom Hayden in Aaron Sorkin’s wonderful 2020 movie, “The Trial of the Chicago Seven, where they are talking about Abbie Hoffman.
Weinglass says, “Abbie is smarter than you think he is,” and Hayden responds with “Cows are smarter than I think he is.”
That’s a perfect way to describe my opion of Donald Trump.
Cows are smarter than I think he is.
There are all sorts of reasons to dislike Trump as president, from his almost sociopathic greed to his strange love for Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, but for me there is one that really stands out.
He’s so damn stupid.
He has no class at all, whether it’s insulting people smarter than him as “low IQ” or using foul language in public in a way no presidents and few international leaders have done.
He lies almost constantly, but rarely more egregiously than when talking about himself. He has gone to great lengths to hide his college records at the same time he claims he graduated first in his class.
Actually he was near the bottom, ahead of a sheep and a goat but behind two cows.
His speeches are almost incoherent, and while some people will argue that his advanced age is a factor in that, he was never a particularly great orator.
Yes, I definitely believe cows are smarter than Donald Trump.
And worst of all, he doesn’t even give milk.
